Session 7 Overview

All students need Core Competency goals. Some students may need additional supplemental curricular goals. A few students may need replacement curricular goals so they can access curriculum in ways that are meaningful to them.

In this session we’ll look at how to design Curricular Competency and Content goals for individual student needs in inclusive ways that maintain accountability for high standards, and access to grade level curriculum for all students.

Our guests for this session are Kristie Ward and Kate Campbell. Kristie Ward is a senior academic English teacher who will talk to us about how she designs her curricular plans and activities in ways that promote curricular access for all students. Kate Campbell is a district helping teacher and will share her experience about how creating curricular access has supported inclusion for students with intellectual disabilities in her K-12 context.
